My name is Dr Esther Gutierrez Eugenio.
I am a doctor in Language Education, and I have been researching and teaching languages for the past 20 years.
HOW I WENT FROM MONOLINGUAL KID...
I come from a monolingual family in Spain.
Like you, I struggled for YEARS trying to learn English.
I tried all methods and tips, without much success.
Until I found the method that worked for me!
Then I learnt English and a total of 9 languages, and I trained and worked as a professional translator and conference interpreter for 5+ years.
But I wanted to become a teacher and share my passion for languages with others.

First, I went to Scotland to train as a secondary school teacher (PGDE). But that wasn't deep enough.
So I did a PhD in Language Education. I wanted to understand 100% how the brain learns languages - so I could help my students learn faster and better than ever before.
After 10+ years teaching languages across Europe, I joined the University of Cambridge's department for language exams, where I worked closely with 80+ European partners, including the European Union and the Council of Europe.
Then I joined the UN's office in Geneva (CH) to coordinate several international communication projects, and lately I worked as a senior manager for several American corporations, including Caterpillar and Procter & Gamble.

Despite working for 10+ years as a manager, my passion for languages and communication was growing stronger every day.
So, after a serious health issue in 2023, I decided to quit my corporate career and focus on what I love most: helping people learn languages.
In 2024, I launched my coaching business (in collaboration with some of the world's best experts) to help ambitious entrepreneurs who need to improve their communication skills in English as fast as possible.
However, every day I receive messages from students who need advice to learn languages faster and better. So I decided to revamp an old hobby-project: Dr Languages.
My goal now is to help the 1.5 billion people trying to learn a language around the world - so they can understand how their unique brain learns languages and FINALLY become fluent in any language they want.
